Vinyl / Poly Binder Manufacturing Process

List of Materials

  • Sheet PVC/Vinyl Polypropylene, Polyetholene (All Petroleum Products)
  • Paper board insert (three cut pieces)
  • 3 Ring Metal Assembly
  • Rivets

Process

  • Refining, Drilling and or mining for ingredients to make PVC, Polypropylene, or Polyetholene
  • Compounding and Extruding of PVC, Polypropylene, or Polyetholene
  • Calendaring (rolling) of Plastic into sheets of film.
  • Cutting of film into sheets
  • Sandwiching three paperboard sheet between two sheets of film to Heat Seal it.
  • Rivetting Ring Metals into each binder

Result

  • A 3 ring binder that is made to last a life-time and then some.
  • Off gassing of PVC or other petroleum product
  • Ring metals that are near impossible to remove - for the potential of ever recycling

Process

  • Collection of recycled paperboard (old corrugated boxes, phone books, chipboard, paper) both post consumer and post industrial recycled waste
  • End result is corrugated cardboard or chipboard material
  • Sheets of board are die cut and scored in the Seattle area
  • Covers are assembled locally by a disabled workforce
  • Ring Metals affixed to corrugated or chipboard cover
